Mission Statement
“The Fairbanks Soil & Water Conservation District (FSWCD) is an outreach and technical assistance organization whose mission is to serve its cooperators, private landowners, and all citizens of the district by promoting wise development and conservation of natural resources.”
Our goal is to follow our integrated pest management plan (IPM) for the unique invasive species problems in our district.

Interior Alaska Elodea Project
Learn more about Alaska’s first invasive aquatic plant, its impacts, status, and what FSWCD has been doing to eradicate it.
Prunus
Chokecherry/Bird Cherry has recently been identified as a harmful invasive species to Alaska. We are currently working on assessing the extent of its spread in the Fairbanks area and beyond.
